Add a Panel in a Floor or Roof

This function can be used to build the floor or roof panels to the structural layer to which you have added panel breaks. The layers of a horizontal structure and their materials have been selected when the structure was added. Different layers of the structure have geometry in the model. You can also include layers above or below the layer in which the panel breaks have been added to the panel.

  1. Select Panels > Add Panel to Area.
  2. Select the method of selecting a structural layer.

    Selecting a Layer

  3. Select the horizontal structure.
  4. Select the number of layers by using a function on the contextual toolbar.

    Panels to Selected Structural Layer

  5. Select the panels to be built by clicking the edge lines of the panels. You can select all panels by pressing Ctrl+A.
  6. Select Confirm.
  7. Select numbering, part numbering, etc., in the dialog box.

    Panel Build Dialog Box

  8. Confirm by clicking OK.

The program will build the panels, add a panel origin and framing origin to the panels, and create framing for the panels based on selected edge details, if you selected the Add framing check box in the dialog box. The edge details are selected when adding panel breaks. The framing origin determines the direction of the framing. You can edit the framing using the Framing Functions.

The program will create the 3D geometry of the framing in the framing model, which is usually FRAMING.vxm You can activate the drawing-model pair of the framing by selecting File > Open Drawing-Model Pair.
