Adding And Refreshing Framing
This function can be used to create framing for a FRAMING type
layer in a horizontal structure. Before adding the framing, you
need to activate the drawing-model pair to which the horizontal
structure has been added. You can select several horizontal
structures in the same drawing-model pair at a time for editing.
The framing tool selected for the layer defines the cross sections
of the parts and the joist spacing.
- Select Floor Joists, Roof Rafters >
Generate Framing.
- Select the method of selecting the structural layer, and select
the structure. When you use the Type filter, the structure
layer with the number 0 and of the type FRAMING becomes
automatically selected.
Selecting a
Layer
- Select Confirm.
- If necessary, select whether you wish to delete or keep the
existing framing.
- Delete: The existing framing will be deleted, with the
exception of beams that have been removed from the framing - see
the Selecting Beams in Area
function.
- Continue: The existing framing will be kept. The
existing framing can be kept e.g. when the framing has been added
only on a certain section of the horizontal structure.
The program will create the 3D geometry of the framing in the
framing model, which is usually FRAMING.vxm. You can activate the
drawing-model pair of the frame by selecting File > Open
Drawing-Model Pair. As a default, the framing is created so
that it is in the direction of the y axis and its origin point is
in the middle of the horizontal structure. The origin point is the
point from which the joist spacing is started.
Note
- You can also add framing according to the framing tool by using
the Generate Parts
function. You can add parts to all layers for which a framing tool
has been defined and the parts of which are not protected
(including sheathing and cladding layers).
- You can divide the framing into fields and select the
properties for the fields with the function Editing Framing Fields. When the framing has
been edited, regenerate the parts.
- As a default, joints are formed between the parts of the
framing when creating the framing. If necessary, you can create the
framing without joints by setting the keyword framing_joint_mode= 0
in the keyword group BDSXX.
- If one or more floor or roof panels have been defined in the
basic layer of the area, you can only select panels to be framed.
You can no longer select the horizontal structure itself to be
framed. This way, creating overlapping framings (of panel and
horizontal structure) is prevented. The restriction applies when
the keyword framing_filter= 1 is defined in the keyword group
BDSXX.
