Add a Light
A model can contain several light types. The default lighting of
a visualized model comprises the ambient light, distant light and
eye light that have been assigned values. You can add lights to a
model as follows:
- Select Rendering > Add
Light. The browser is opened.
- Select a folder in the browser. The software supplier's lights
are in the System/lights folder.
Light Types
- Do either of the following:
- Double-click the light's thumbnail.
- Right-click on the thumbnail and select Select.
- Define the light properties in the dialog box.

- Confirm the data.
Note
- The browser displays the shared (user's lights) and the system
(software supplier's lights) folders. You can create your own
lights in the Shared folder.
- You can edit and delete lights in the object tree or by using
the function Rendering > Modify
Lights.
- You can also add a light macro from the component library to
the model, see Add a Light
Component.
- You can also select this function in the object tree. Select
the object tree title
Rendering. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu,
and select Add Light.
