Update Truss Shapes
This function can be used to reselect the structures limiting
the trusses in the existing truss area from above and below. You
can select the limiting structures like when adding a truss area,
see Add a Truss Area and Truss
Volumes. You can confirm the old selections right away by
selecting the Confirm function.
You can edit the selections by clicking the structures selected
during the adding phase so that they are deselected, or by
selecting new structures.
Before you accept the upper and lower limiting structures with
the Confirm function, you can select the auxiliary function
Edit slope reference data from the contextual
toolbar. With this function, you can determine the distance between
the top or bottom chord of the truss and the limiting
structure.
- Select Trusses > Update
Truss Shapes.
- Select the truss area by clicking one of the trusses in the
area.
- Select the upper limiting structures.
- If necessary, select the function Edit
slope reference data:
- Select the structures from which you wish to determine the
offset.
- Select Confirm. Slope Offsets dialog box opens.
- Select the direction to which the distance from the limiting
structure is measured. Select either of the following:
- Type the distance of the top chord from the limiting structure
in the Offset field.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Select Confirm.
- Select the lower limiting structures.
- If necessary, select the function Edit
slope reference data:
- Select the structures from which you wish to determine the
offset.
- Select Confirm. Slope Offsets dialog box opens.
- Select the direction to which the distance from the limiting
structure is measured. Select either of the following:
- Type the distance of the bottom chord from the limiting
structure in the Offset field.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Select Confirm.
- Select the truss parts to be updated. Select either or both of
the following check boxes in a dialog box:
