Adding an origin point

This function can be used to add an origin point to a framing field. One field may contain several origin points. The origin points determine where the placing of the joists is started. A joist is always positioned at the origin point.

Add an origin point to a framing field as follows:

1. Select Floor Joists, Roof Rafters > Edit Framing Fields.
2. Select the method of selecting the structural layer, and select the structure and if necessary, the structural layer (type FRAMING).

3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
4. Select Add Origin.
5. If necessary, change the direction of the origin point as follows:
   1. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
   2. Select one of the following:
      • Vertical
      • Horizontal
      • Default (direction of the riser on a sloping plane)
      • Select the direction
        1. Select the start point of the direction line.
        2. Select the end point of the direction line.
6. Select a location for the origin point. You can locate the origin at a distance of 600 mm or 1200 mm from the edge of the framing field as follows:
   1. Move the cursor near the edge.
   2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
   3. Select either of the following:
      • Distance 600
      • Distance 1200

Note

• Before selecting a location for the origin point, you can change its direction to horizontal or vertical also by using the cursor keys Arrow right or Arrow left.
• After selecting the origin points and properties, you can refresh the framing using the Add and refresh framing function.
