Service Holes

You can add service holes, lift holes or rod holes to the frame layer of a structure. The structure can be a panel (wall, floor or roof panel) or horizontal structure framing.

You can add service holes to several panels at once by specifying the end points of the service hole line so that the line extends over the desired panels. You can add a free service hole line by clicking the end points of the line in the model.

1. Select Beams, Columns > Connection Details. The browser is opened.
2. Select the browser folder Service Holes.
3. Select one of the following service hole types:
   • Lift Holes
     1. Enable or disable the contextual toolbar switch One Area.
     2. Choose the selection method for the structure and the structural layer.

     3. Select the structures according to the selection mode.

        You can select more than one panel when the One Area switch is disabled. In this case, confirm the selections with the Confirm function.

     4. Click locations for the holes.

        

     5. Select Confirm.

   • Rod Hole
     1. Enable or disable the contextual toolbar switch One Area.
     2. Choose the selection method for the structure and the structural layer.

   • Circular Hole
     1. Select parameters for the service holes.

     3. Select Confirm.
     4. Click the start point of the line. If you selected more than one line of service holes, click the start point of the midpoint of the service hole line group.
     5. Click the end point of the line.
   • Rectangular Hole, Ob-round Hole
     1. Select parameters for the service holes.

     2. Select the area.
     3. Select Confirm.
     4. Click the start point of the line. If you selected more than one line of service holes, click the start point of the midpoint of the service hole line group.
     5. Click the end point of the line.
   • Free Hole Line
     1. Select the profiles where you want to add the service holes.
     2. Select Confirm.
     3. Click the start point of the line in the model.
     4. Click the end point of the line in the model.
     5. Select the hole diameter in a dialog box.

• The holes will be displayed in the model when you select the True Features 3D presentation method for the parts of the area, see Profile Properties.
• The object type of service holes is Building Components.
