Quick section
This function can be used to create a section view of the
building by selecting a section line in the layout drawing. The
direction of the section is determined by the locations you choose
for the start and end points of the section line. An arrow will
indicate the direction of the section once you have selected the
start point. All elements of the open model that lie between the
section line and section depth (mm) are included in the section.
With a section depth of 0 (zero), all elements that lie in the
direction of the section from the section line are included.
Create a section drawing of a building as follows:
- Activate the 2D drawing.
- Select View > Cross Section from the menu.
- Select the start point of the section line.
- Lock the cursor if necessary.
- Select the end point of the section line.
- Select the Confirm function.
- Type section depth.
- Edit the section using the general drawing functions.
- Save the cross section drawing by selecting File >
Save.
Note
- You can add the cross section drawing on the drawing sheet, if
you save it, for example, in the project directory of the project
in question. Create a drawing sheet to a new 2D drawing window by
selecting the Add Drawing Sheet and Title Block function.
Add the drawing on the sheet by selecting the Add Drawing on
Sheet function and select Drawing from the project
folder as the drawing type. Select the folder and the drawing
file in the Windows Open dialog box.
- The Vertex BD Architectural product includes the Define
Cross Section function, which can be used to create a cross
section drawing from a specifically defined model. The model is
generated from the 3D model of the building by selecting the
elements that you want to include in the cross section drawing. The
section line is marked with symbols in the layout.
