Contrast Between Light and Shadow

The relation between the intensities of Distant Light (the sun) and Ambient Light determines the contrast between illuminated and shadowed locations in a rendered view.

Distant light 0.4, Ambient light 0.9

Distant light 0.8, Ambient light 0.5

Distant light 1.1, Ambient light 0.1

Edit the intensity of light as follows:

1. Select Rendering > Edit/Delete Lights. The Edit Lights dialog box opens.
2. Select the row of the desired light from the list.
3. Click the Edit Library button.
4. Edit the value in the Intensity field.
5. Confirm and close the dialog boxes by clicking OK.
