Adding an origin point
This function can be used to add an origin point to a sheathing
field. One field may contain only one origin point. The origin
point determines how the sheets will be divided over the sheathing
area. Define the location of the origin point by adding a so-called
origin sheet to the sheathing field.
Add an origin point to a sheathing field as follows:
- Select Floor Joists, Roof Rafters > Sheathing
> Define Sheathing Base Point.
- Select the method of selecting the structural layer, and select
the structure and the structural layer (type SHEET).

- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Add Origin.
- If necessary, change the direction of the origin sheet as
follows:
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select one of the following:
- Vertical
- Horizontal
- Default (direction of the riser on a sloping plane)
- Select the direction
- Select the start point of the direction line.
- Select the end point of the direction line.
- If necessary, change the location of the origin sheet's
locating point as follows:
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Locating point.
- Choose one of the nine radio buttons in the dialog box,
corresponding to the points of the origin sheet:
- If the horizontal structure has framing, you can lock the
cursor to the direction of a joist as follows:
- Move the cursor near a joist.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Constrain to piece .
- Select a location for the origin point.
Note
- Before selecting a location for the origin point, you can
change the origin sheet's direction to horizontal or vertical also
by using the cursor keys Arrow right or Arrow left.
- Update the sheathing by selecting Add
sheathing.
