Adding a Sheathing
This function can be used to add sheathing in the sheathing
layer of a horizontal structure. Before adding the sheathing, you
need to select detailed representation for the structure by using
the Expand
layers function.
- Select Floor Joists, Roof Rafters >
Sheathing > Generate Sheathing.
- Select the method of selecting the structural layer, and select
the structure and the structural layer (type SHEET).
Selecting Structural
Layers
- Select the sheathing properties.
Sheathing
Properties
Note
- If an origin point for the sheathing has not been added to the
horizontal structure, the program will add a default origin and
divide the sheathing over the area based on it. You can divide the
sheathing into fields, add origin points to the fields and change
the direction of the sheathing by selecting Defining a sheathing origin point.
- The sheathing will be added in its own layer (140). If the
sheathing is not displayed in the drawing window, you can make the
layer visible by selecting the
Layers > Select Layers from List function, or
make all layers visible by selecting
Layers > All Layers.
- You can also add sheathing to a floor or roof panel. The layers
of the structure do not need to be expanded then. Select a single
floor or roof panel as the area to be sheathed.
- If one or more floor or roof panels have been defined in the
basic layer of the area, you can only select panels to be sheathed.
You can no longer select the horizontal structure itself to be
sheathed. This way, creating overlapping sheathings (of panel and
horizontal structure) is prevented. The restriction applies when
the keyword framing_filter= 1 is defined in the keyword group
BDSXX.
