Retrieving Building Group Projects from the DesignStream
System
You can add only building group projects in a local project
archive to the main project. If you wish to use a building group
project in the DesignStream system, you can retrieve a copy of the
project from the server into the local project archive. You can
retrieve a copy of one or more building group projects without
checking the projects out from the server as follows:
- Select File > Project Archive > Get Building Groups
from DesignStream.
- Select the building groups to be retrieved from the list.
Selecting from a
List
- Confirm by clicking OK.
The selected building group projects are copied into the local
project archive at the BLDG_GROUPS saving location. You can now add
the building group project to the main project.
Note
- The building group project retrieved with this function is just
a copy of a project on the server. Another user may check out the
building group project from the server and make changes to it. Such
changes will not be automatically updated in a project in a local
archive. If you wish to update a building group project added to a
main project, you must delete the building group project from the
local archive. When you open the main project next time, the
building group project will be recopied from the server.
- If you open the building group project you copied before adding
it to the main project, the building group project will be checked
out with your username from the DesignStream system. Other users
cannot then check out the project for editing.
