Adding Architectural Rafters to an Open Eave
You can add architectural rafters to an open eave in order to
finalize an architectural model for permit drawings. You can select
different rafters for side eaves, gable eaves and corners. The
rafters will not be included in the material report.
- Select Roofs > Soffits > Set Up
Architectural Rafters on Open Eaves. The Architectural Rafters
on Open Eaves dialog box opens.
- Select the rafters and their parameters in the dialog box.
The
Architectural Rafters on Open Eaves Dialog Box
- Select the roof slope to which the rafters are added. You can
select several slopes with the Ctrl key pressed down.
- Select Confirm.
Note
- This function will convert the roof's frame layer into a
surface model. You can restore the frame layer by selecting
Closed Eaves from the presets in the Architectural Rafters
on Open Eaves dialog box.
- If the roof dimensions change, the geometry of architectural
rafters added for open eaves will not be automatically updated. See
Updating Architectural
Rafters.
- You can change architectural rafters by defining a component
change rule. Select components of the type Open Eaves
Rafters as the component to be changed. The rafters are changed
by slope, and the search criterion is formed based on the roof
parameters.
- The object type of the architectural rafters is Open Eaves
Rafters.
