Editing a Grid

With this function, a grid is moved and/or the values of the grid parameters are changed. If the parameters are to be changed without moving the grid, same location is selected for the grid as when the grid was added.

If the grid is to be moved without changing the parameters, a new location for the reference point of the grid and a new horizontal direction for the rectangular grid or the straight line tangential to the arc at the reference point of a polar grid are selected. While defining the horizontal direction of a rectangular grid, the cursor has by default been locked in the original direction, but by switching the locking off with the keyboard function U the horizontal direction of the grid can be selected in any direction.

  1. Select the grid.
  2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Change the elevation position of the grid with the Z button, if necessary. If you cannot see the button, stretch the bottom edge of the Vertex window downwards.
  5. Click the location of the reference point of the grid.
  6. Click the horizontal direction for the rectangular grid or the direction of the straight line tangential to the arc at the reference point of the polar grid.
  7. Change the values of the grid parameters, if necessary.
