You can use this function to define the shape of a floor or ceiling by selecting the walls limiting the structure. If you are adding a floor or a ceiling in a drawing-model pair where walls have been added (for example, a floor can be added to the Foundation drawing-model pair), you can select the walls in the 2D drawing. A floor or a ceiling is usually added to a drawing-model pair, in which the floor plan is a reference drawing in the 2D drawing. In this case, you can select the walls in the 3D model.
In simple cases, you can add the structure automatically according to a closed exterior wall chain. Alternatively, you can select the walls one by one, or you can activate an auxiliary function after selecting the first wall, after which the next wall of a wall chain or an entire wall chain can be selected automatically. A wall chain is formed of walls connected to each other with corner joints.
The edges of a floor or ceiling reach to the reference line of the wall. The default reference line has been defined in the project parameters, and it is either the exterior or interior side of the frame. If necessary, you can change the reference line to be another wall line, or you can define the edge to run at a fixed distance from the reference line of a wall. The status bar displays the reference line and distance (offset).
