Basic parameters relevant to horizontal structures

When you add a horizontal structure, it has a default elevation, default positioning surface (top or bottom) and default reference line which have been defined in the basic project parameters. You can edit the parameter values by using the menu bar function File > Project Parameters > Edit Project Parameters.

Default elevation of horizontal structure

Following basic parameters define the default elevation of a horizontal structure in relation to the floor base height.

When you add a horizontal structure, you can select a new elevation by using the functions on the contextual toolbar. The auxiliary functions to be used depend on the selected method of adding the structure.

Default positioning surface of horizontal structure

When you add a horizontal structure, the default positioning surface defines which surface, top or bottom, of the structure is positioned on the selected location and selected elevation.

The possible values of the parameters are 0 or 1.

Default reference line of horizontal structure

The default reference line is used when the shape of the structure is defined by selecting the walls around the structure, see Selecting walls. The parameter value is a line depicting a structural layer of a wall, for example EXTERIOR. When you add a horizontal structure, you can select a new reference line by using the function on the contextual toolbar.
