Add a Piece of Furniture or Another Building Component

Add a building component, for example a piece of furniture, in a drawing as follows:

1. Do either of the following:
   • Select Building Components > Add Furniture, Symbol, Building Group....
   • Open the context-sensitive menu by clicking the right mouse button and select Add Furniture, Symbol, Building Group....

   The browser is opened.

2. Select a folder in the browser.
3. Double-click the thumbnail of a component.
4. If the selected component has variable parameters, you can select the parameters in a dialog box. If necessary, you can reselect the parameters by selecting the contextual toolbar function Edit Parameters. If there are no parameters, you can locate the component.
5. Select the locating height of the component.
   • When a component is added to a drawing, its default position is the floor base height, i.e. the level of the floor surface, or the nearest height level beneath. If you wish to position the component at another height, you can change its height by using the Select Height function on the contextual toolbar.
   • If you are using the Vertex BD Architectural or Pro product, you can also add a component to a model. You can position the component on the floor surface level or on the nearest height level below the cursor by using the contextual toolbar function Gravitation Snap. Components with a height that cannot be easily selected can be added by defining their position in the 3D model. In this case, the gravitation snap must be disabled.
6. If necessary, change the locating point of the component, mirror or flip the component, edit the parameters of the component, or select another function from the contextual toolbar.

7. Select a location for the component.

• You can also rotate the macro in the xy plane by using the following keyboard commands:
  • at intervals of 45° by using Page Up and Page Down
  • at intervals of 5° by using the Up and Down arrow keys
  • at intervals of 1° by using the Left and Right arrow keys.

  You can rotate an element by using the keyboard commands when the ../user/SETUP file contains the keyword set.vertex.grouparrowrotate= 2.

• If you use the functions on the contextual toolbar to change the component's position, for example to rotate the component, you can restore its original position by using the function Normalizing Position.
• When you select a component group that you have created yourself from the browser, a limited set of auxiliary functions is available.
• If the component group you selected has been created of component belonging to different drawing-model pairs, you can select whether the components of the group are added to their original drawing-model pairs or to the active drawing-model pair. Select either of the following in the message box:
  • Yes, when you want to add the components to their original drawing-model pairs.
  • No, when you want to add all the components in the active drawing-model pair.
