Launching Add Symbol Component from Custom Toolbar

In the Vertex BD application you can add a command to the common toolbar which launches the add function for a certain symbol component or joint from a component library without having to choose it from the browser.

1. In the Custom Toolbars dialog box, enter the Type of the component library, e.g. BDSMACRO/STD, in the Command Name field.
2. A sequential number, or Icon ID, is defined in the component library for the symbol component or joint to be used in the browser. Enter the Icon ID preceded by a minus sign in the Command number field, e.g. -5.

• You can find out the Type of the component library and the Icon ID of the symbol component or joint as follows:
  1. Select System Settings > Building Component Libraries > Component Libraries.
  2. Move the cursor over the correct row using the arrow keys (Up arrow or Down arrow).
  3. Click the Settings button. The Component Library dialog box opens.

     The type of the component library is displayed in the Type field.

  4. Close the dialog box.
  5. Click the Edit button.
  6. Move the cursor over the correct row using the arrow keys (Up arrow or Down arrow).
  7. Select the Browser tab.

     The sequential number of the symbol component or joint is displayed in the Icon ID field.

  8. Close the database views.

Adding a Command or an Application Development Program to the Custom Toolbar
