Document Base Cards
You can define default data for documents of different types on
document base cards. The default data is automatically completed in
the document information based on
the document type.
- Select System Settings > General System
Setup > Document Base Cards. The Document Base
Cards database view opens.
- You can browse the cards by using the cursor keys, Arrow up and
Arrow down. If necessary, create a new card by adding a row in the
database in one of the following ways:
- Select Edit > Add Row Before or Edit > Add Row
After.
- Copy an existing row with the Edit > Copy Row
function.
- Select the types of documents for which you wish to define
default data. Click the Select button next to the
Type field, and select a document type from the list. For
example, Pair2D = drawing of a drawing-model pair or Sheet =
drawing on a sheet.
- Define the default data according to the type in the database
view:
- File - If you wish to define different base cards for
documents of the same type, you can differentiate the documents
based on their file names. For example, the floor plans of the
first floor (1walls.vxp) and second floor (2walls.vxp) are of the
same type (Pair2D), but they have different file names. If a
project is open, you can select the file name from the files of the
project in question by clicking the Select button.
Alternatively, you can enter the file name in the text field.
- Description - Enter the default description text for the
document in the text field. If the field is empty, the description
automatically generated by the program will be used as the default
description.
- Select the other default data such as Construction Type
and Drawing Type.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
Some of the data is added to the title block of the drawing
sheet; see Title Block
Information.
You can edit the alternatives on the Drawn By list by
opening the project data card with the File > Project Data
Card function and clicking the Edit Address Book button
on the Connection Data page. This function is available on a
project data card of the basic software delivery.
Note
- System Settings is available on the toolbar only if you
are a system administrator.
