Moving an origin point

Move an origin point in a sheathing field as follows:

  1. Select Floor Joists, Roof Rafters > Sheathing > Define Sheathing Base Point.
  2. Select the method of selecting the structural layer, and select the structure and the structural layer (type SHEET).

  3. Select the symbol of the origin sheet.
  4. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  5. Select Move Origin.
  6. If necessary, change the direction of the origin sheet as follows:
    1. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
    2. Select one of the following:
      • Vertical
      • Horizontal
      • Default (direction of the riser on a sloping plane)
      • Select the direction
        1. Select the start point of the direction line.
        2. Select the end point of the direction line.
  7. If necessary, change the location of the origin sheet's locating point as follows:
    1. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
    2. Select Locating point.
    3. Choose one of the nine radio buttons in the dialog box, corresponding to the points of the origin sheet:
  8. If the horizontal structure has framing, you can lock the cursor to the direction of a joist as follows:
    1. Move the cursor near a joist.
    2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
    3. Select Constrain to piece .
  9. Select a location for the origin point.
