00021 I Beam Joint With Web Stiffeners

1. Select Beams, Columns > Connection Details.
2. Select the folder Notch / I-beam in the browser.
3. Select 00021 I-beam joint with web stiffeners.
4. Select the notch parameters in the I Beam Connection dialog box:
   • Max notch depth (d1)
   • Notch depth + (d2)
   • Web stiffener - Select the check box, when you wish to add web stiffeners.
   • Length - The length of the web stiffener (L).
   • Gap (C).
5. Confirm by clicking OK.
6. Select the I-beam (A).
7. Select the profile ends (B). Select the profiles one by one or use area selection.
8. Select Confirm.
9. If necessary, select to delete the existing joint.

Note

• The web stiffeners are profiles by object type, but they are collected to the material registry with a type of their own.
• You can stretch a stiffener profile by moving the grip point.
• If the beam's cross section changes, the size of the stiffener profile is also updated.
• You can edit the parameters of the joint by double-clicking a stiffener profile in the model.
