Notching a Beam End

1. Select Beams, Columns > Connection Details.
2. Select the folder Notch / Free in the browser.
3. Select Notch at Joist End.
4. Select the notch parameters in the Notch at Joist End dialog box:
   • Length (L)
   • Depth (d)
   • Select whether the beam's top or bottom edge is notched:
     • Top

       

     • Bottom

       

5. Confirm by clicking OK.
6. Select the ends of the beams. Select the beam ends one by one or use area selection.
7. Select Confirm.
