Setting a Classification
Classifications can be used in the grouping of building
components, for example by use or color. Building components which
have the same material code may have a different classification.
One building component may have several different classifications.
You can utilize classifications in component change, finding the
component to be changed based on a certain classification.
You can select the classification in the following ways:
- From the classification database (d_USE).
- From a classification list tree defined in the DesignStream
system (the DesignStream Interface add-on feature).
- The classification can also be a freeform character
string.
Set the classification as follows:
- Select one or more building components.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Advanced > Set Classification. The Edit
Classifications dialog box opens.
- You can edit the classifications of building components in the
dialog box.
The
Edit Classifications Dialog Box
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
Note
- When defining a component change rule, use the classification
type in the search criterion, for example COMP_USE.
- The classification is also collected in the material
report.
- In Vertex BD 16.0 and older versions, it was possible to define
only a single classification, use code, for a building component.
Use codes added to old projects are automatically converted into
new classifications of the type COMP_USE. Old projects and
component change rules utilizing them will work as before. If you
wish to use classifications just like the old use code, define only
one classification of the COMP_USE type for the building
component.
