Add a Hole Feature
Add a hole feature to a profile in the 3D model.
- Select Beams, Columns > Detailing >
Add Hole.
- Select a profile.
- If necessary, select a reference point on the cross section.
The position of the hole in relation to this point will be retained
if you replace the profile. Do one of the following:
- Select either of the following from the contextual toolbar:
- Set feature by surface. The hole
perforates a surface orthogonally.
- Set feature by selected point. You can
define the direction in which the hole perforates a surface.
- Do one of the following:
- If you selected Set feature by surface:
- Select the surface.
- Select the location.
- If you selected Set feature by selected
point:
- Select the location.
- Select the direction.
- Select the rotation.
- Select the properties of the hole in a database view.
Select the Diameter and Depth of the hole from the
lists or type the desired values in the text fields. You can add
the hole in two directions by selecting the value 1 in the
Double field. In this case, the depth of the hole away from
the surface is also equal to the value in the Depth
field.
Note
- You can change the representation of the feature by editing the
3D representation of the profile as follows:
- Select the profile in the basic mode of the program.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Properties.
- Select the check box 3D instance in the dialog box.
- Select one of the following radio buttons:
- No features
- Hole as lines
- True features
- Confirm by clicking OK.
