Set a Building Component as Part of a Wall
You can set a building component as a part of a wall, or set a
parent for the component. When you move the wall, the connected
building component moves with it. If you have already defined a
parent for the component, you can change it, or you can disconnect
the component from its parent.
Set a Building Component as Part of a Wall:
- Select
Building Components > Advanced > Set
Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select the component.
- Select the wall to which the component is to be connected.
- Confirm the connection by selecting Yes in a message
box.
Set the Building Component as Part of Another Wall, or Change
the Component's Parent:
- Select
Building Components > Advanced > Set
Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select the component whose parent is to be changed.
- Select Change in the message box.
- Select a new wall, to which the component is connected.
- Confirm the connection by selecting Yes in a message
box.
Disconnect a Building Component From a Wall:
- Select
Building Components > Advanced > Set
Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select the component to be disconnected.
- Select Disconnect in the message box.
Note
- Windows and doors are automatically connected to the wall on
which they are added. A parent is not needed to be set for
them.
- With this function, also a building component assembly can be
connected to a wall. The assembly is selected by clicking one of
the assembly components.
