Edit a Building Component
You can edit the geometry of a building component added to a
building. The drawing or model file of the building component is
opened for editing in a separate working window. The program
creates a new version of the geometry file in the project folder,
and attaches this file to the selected component. The changes made
to the geometry are updated automatically to the 2D drawing or 3D
model of the project. The original geometry file remains unchanged
in the component library.
- Activate the drawing or model window of the project, depending
on which geometry file you want to edit.
- Select the building component. You can select only one building
component.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Edit.
- Edit the geometry.
- If the component you opened is a so called classic model, you
can edit the 3D geometry by stretching and mirroring, or by
deleting parts. The classic modeling functions were used in the
software versions 12.1 and older.
- If the component you opened is a model created with the new
modeler, you can edit the 3D geometry by using the modeler's
functions.
- You can edit the 2D geometry of component by using the drawing
functions.
- Close the window and save the changes by selecting Yes
in the message box.
Note
- The program saves the edited geometry files to the project's
macros folder.
- If the 2D geometry of a component is automatically created from
the 3D geometry, and thus a separate drawing file does not exist,
opening a component while the drawing window is active opens the
macro's 3D geometry.
- You can restore the component's original geometry saved in the
component library by updating the component.
