Add a Layer

You can add a new layer to the top or bottom surface of a structure or a structural layer.

1. Select Floors and Ceilings > Add Layer.
2. Select the layer material from a list:
   • If you have not used the adding function before, the list opens automatically.
   • If you have used the adding function before, the previously selected material is now the default material. If necessary, change the material by first selecting the function Select material from list. The function opens the list.
   • You can copy an existing material by using the function Select material from another area on the contextual toolbar.
3. If necessary, edit the material by using the function Edit material on the contextual toolbar. Edit the materials in a database view.

4. Select an adding method. You can define the outline of the layer by using points or walls, or you can add the layer to the area of the entire selected structure or structural layer.
   • Add layer using points

5. Select adding to top of bottom surface.
   • Add layer to bottom side of master
   • Add layer to top side of master
6. Select the method of selecting the structural layer from the context-sensitive toolbar.

7. Select the horizontal structure or structural layer according to the selection mode.
8. Define the outline of the layer according to the selected adding method.
9. Select Confirm.

Note

• You can delete the added layer by editing the structure properties.
