Area by bottom plane

This function is used to select a single inclined plane to be added. When the drawing window is active, the pitch of the plane and the elevation of the top surface are defined by selecting a reference plane using four points. The points are selected one by one. An elevation is typed for each point in a text box. The elevation is typed in relation to the base elevation of the floor, which is usually the same as the level of the floor's top surface. The first three points define the pitch of the plane, which means that the elevation of the fourth point is insignificant.

In the model window, the pitch of the plane and the elevation of the top surface are defined by selecting the four points on the reference plane with the cursor or generic point snap functions. Wire frame can be selected as the initial method of representation of the model, in which case it is easier to select points of the model.

This function can be used, for example, to define the pitch of a single ceiling slope to match the pitch of a roof slope.

The edge line of the plane to be added is selected only after defining the reference plane.

  1. Select four points and type their elevation in the 2D drawing or select four points in the 3D model.
  2. Select the edge line of the plane according to the chosen selection method.
