Creating a Template Sheet for a Detail Sheet
A template sheet is required for creating detail sheets. You can
create a drawing sheet as follows:
- Open a new 2D drawing window. Select File > New > New
Drawing.
- Move the cursor on the working window area and right-click to
open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Properties.
- Select the Sheet tab of the Drawing settings dialog
box.
- Select 1:1 from the Scale list.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
- Select Drawings > Add Drawing Sheet and Title Block.
- Type the number of horizontal A4 sheets.
- Type the number of vertical A4 sheets. If necessary, use a
decimal point, for example 1.5.
- Select a title for the drawing sheet.
- Select the location of the sheet in the drawing window. Click
any point in the drawing window with the cursor.
- Select File > Save. The Windows Save As dialog box
opens.
- Select the folder ../custom/detbook/sheets/. If the directory
in question does not contain a Sheets folder, you can create a new
directory as follows:
- Click the Create New Folder button in the Windows Save As
dialog box.
- Rename the folder as: Sheets.
- Type the name of the drawing file in the File name field.
- Click the Save button.
A so-called reference detail is added to the sheet, determining
the location of the collected detail drawings on the template
sheet.
- Select Details > Add
Detail.
- Select the detail to be added. The detail can be any
detail.
- Select the lower left corner as the reference point from the
contextual toolbar: >
.
- Select the location of the detail on the drawing sheet.
Position the detail to the point in which you want the lower left
corner of the detail to be located in the final detail sheet.
- Select the next position of the reference detail as above. Add
a reference detail to those positions to which you want to collect
a detail in the final detail sheet.
- End adding details by pressing the Esc key.
- Select File > Save.
- Close the drawing window.
