Defining Search Data
You can enter a document Label, Project ID or another search
term as the search criteria. When defining search terms, you can
use an asterisk (*) to replace several characters or a question
mark (?) to replace a single character. When the document to be
opened is a model, you can refine the search by defining the type
as Part or Assembly.
When the search returns more than one document, you can select
the document to be opened from the List, based on the documents'
Archives Card or from the Images (default). The selected method is
used until you change it. Confirm the search criteria in the
database views.
Define the search data in the database view as follows:
- Do one of the following:
- Enter the document label in the dialog box and click
Open. The document will be opened in the working
window.
- If you do not know the document label, enter search terms for
the document in the database view.
- Once you confirm the data, one of the following happens:
- If the search term used is a document number, the document will
be opened directly in the working window.
- Documents that meet the search criteria are opened in the
browser, when the selection method is From Images browsing
(default).
- The Archives Data of documents meeting the search criteria are
opened From List or From Archive Cards.
- When the search returns more than one document, select the
desired document.
Note
- You can view a document based on the image and the data in the
browser before making the selection. If necessary, you can even
delete a document from the archive using the browser
functions.
- You can open a model's drawing for viewing using this function,
and edit it using the 2D drawing functions. To edit the projections
of a model's drawing and update data, first open the model in the
working window, then open the drawing using the context-sensitive
Drawings function.
