Moving Dimension or Text

This function can be used to relocate the selected dimension figure or text. Part numbers and engineering drawing symbols are also texts. You can select a new position for the dimension, text, part number or engineering drawing symbol. Several parallel dimensions can be moved at once.

1. Select Dimensions> Move.
2. Select the dimension or text.
3. Click the new location.
4. If other dimensions have been connected to the dimension, you will be prompted: Adjust adjacent dimensions? Select either of the following:
   • If you want to move the adjacent dimensions as well, click Yes.
   • If you want to move the selected dimension only, click No.

Select the dimension, and then select the Move function from the context-sensitive menu. You can move several parallel dimensions at once.

Note

• You can also move the dimension by dragging the handle. You can move the dimension figure on the reference line.
• You can select the new start point or end point for the dimension by moving the handle.
• You can remove the dimension by selecting one or more dimensions, and then selecting the Delete function from the context-sensitive menu, or by pressing the Delete key.
