Layer Settings
The layer numbers and names available to the program, and the
default values of layer visibility and printing are defined in the
system settings.
- Select Settings > Edit Setup. The Vertex Settings
dialog box is opened.
- If necessary, clear the Administrator's View
checkbox.
- Select Levels/Level settings.
- Do one of the following:
- Edit layer settings
- Select the layer from the list.
- Edit the layer's name in the Name field, or select the
desired values in the Display and Printing fields.
- Display = Yes - The layer is on as a default.
- Display = No - The layer is off as a default.
- Printing = Yes - The elements on the layer are printed
as a default.
- Printing = No - The elements on the layer are not
printed as a default.
Hidden is a layer, which is always off on the screen and
in the printouts.
- Define a new layer
- Select an available layer from the list. The Name field
of an available layer is empty, and the Display and
Printing fields have the value Not Defined.
- Type the name of the layer in the Name field.
- Select the desired values in the Display and
Printing fields.
- Display = Yes - The layer is on as a default.
- Display = No - The layer is off as a default.
- Printing = Yes - The elements on the layer are printed
as a default.
- Printing = No - The elements on the layer are not
printed as a default.
Hidden is a layer, which is always off on the screen and
in the printouts.
- Delete a layer
- Select the layer from the list. You can only delete layers you
have defined yourself.
- Click the Remove Selected Layer button. When you next
open the settings for editing, the Name field of the layer
is empty, and the Display and Printing fields have
the value Not Defined.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Restart Vertex.

- If Administrator's View is selected, the keyword is
level(layer number).
