Deleting an Excavation
You can delete an excavation added to a terrain as follows.
- Select Terrain > Delete
Excavation. If you selected the function with the model window
active, the program will automatically activate the drawing
window.
- If there are several excavations in the terrain, select the
excavation by clicking its edge line. If there is only one
excavation in the terrain, the program will automatically select
it.
- You will receive the prompt: "Explode lines of excavation into
2D geometry?" Select either of the following:
- Yes - When you wish to retain the polyline defining the
excavation's edge line in the 2D drawing. You can, for example,
edit the polyline points and add the excavation again.
- No - When you also wish to delete the polyline from the
2D drawing.
Note
- You can also delete the excavation and retain the polyline as
follows:
- Select the excavation in the 2D drawing.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Advanced > Explode into Geometry. You will
receive the prompt: "Are you sure you want to explode?""
- Select Yes. The excavation will be deleted from the
terrain model, but the polyline will remain in the 2D drawing.
- If you delete the excavation by pressing the Delete key, the
polyline will also be deleted from the 2D drawing.
