System Administration Functions

The system administrator's functions include editing the settings, and editing component libraries, material register and material databases.

• The settings are edited with the menu bar function Settings > Edit Setup. Default values for several parameters are defined in the settings.
• Functions for editing component libraries, material register and material databases are selected from the menu System Settings on the toolbar.

As a default, system administration functions are not available in the menu bar or on the toolbar. The functions are not required in normal design work. Only a system administrator should edit the system settings.

As a system administrator, you can add system administration functions to the toolbar by adding the following keyword to the ./user/SETUP file:

set.system.menu= 1

If the program environment has been installed on a network server, set the keyword to your own user-specific ../user/SETUP.COMPUTER_NAME file.

The setting takes effect when you restart Vertex.
