Materials

You can edit the materials and default parameters of the layers in the database view.

General Information on Editing Vertex Databases

General

Description

Users select floor and ceiling layers based on the material description.

Allowed types

Defines the layer types for which the material can be selected. When a user selects the type of the layer when adding a floor or ceiling, the material alternatives are limited according to the type.

Thickness

The default thickness complemented in the dialog box when adding a floor or ceiling, when a user selects a material for a layer.

Code

The material code based on which data is collected into the material database.

Line Properties

The default drawing properties of the layer edges and hatches have been defined in the system settings with the keyword area_layer_props. The properties can be overridden in the layer library by setting the drawing properties for each layer on the Line Properties tab. If the rows in the database are empty, the default properties defined in the system settings will be used.

2D Line Properties

Defines the line properties of the layer in the floor plan. Select a pre-made property set for the line by clicking 2D Line Properties button.

3D Line Properties

Defines the line properties of the layer in the model. Select a pre-made property set for the line by clicking the 3D Line Properties button.

Hatch Properties

Defines the hatch properties of the layer. Select a pre-made property set for the hatch by clicking the Hatch Properties button.

Parameters

Texture File

In the accurate model, you can apply a texture on the surface of the layer. The texture is displayed in the model after you have selected the accurate presentation for the structure with the Presentation > Accurate function, and, in addition, you have expanded the layers with the context-sensitive function Expand Layers.

A texture file can be either a drawing or a model file.

Texture Angle

Defines the direction of the texture hatch in a horizontal structure. Enter the desired value in the text field. The angle is defined in relation to the x axis.

Usable Width

Defines the rise of a single board in a cladding. The usable width is intended to be used together with the texture angle when the texture file is parametric, in other words when the width of the board is controlled with a dimension constraint. The value of the usable width is loaded as the value of the dimension constraint. This enables claddings of varying widths by using just one texture file. Solving the constraints requires that Settings > 2D Constraint Manager is enabled. The default value of the effective width is set in the layer library.

Surface Properties

Surface Prop.

Defines the surface material displayed in an accurate model. Select the category according to which the material is determined from the list.

Surface Coarse Prop.

Defines the surface material displayed in a coarse model. Select the category according to which the material is determined from the list.

Hatch

Color Fill

Defines the properties of the color fill of a layer. Select a pre-made property set by clicking the Color Fill button.

Line Fill

Defines the line fill properties of the layer. Select a pre-made property set by clicking the Line Fill button.
