Opening an Energy Report

The program collects initial data for energy calculations in an energy report in XML format. The report is saved in the project folder as energy.xml. You can export the file to external energy calculation software. The initial data that Vertex BD generates include the volume and area data of the building, the U values of the building components and the compass directions of windows and doors.

You can open an energy report from the project document browser as follows:

1. Open the Energy calculation branch in the document browser.
2. Move the cursor over the Energy report header.
3. Right-click to open the contextual menu.
4. Select either of the following:
   • Open - The report is opened in the application associated with the XML file extension.
   • Open with Excel - The report is opened in the Microsoft Excel application. Select style sheet as the opening method of the XML file and select either of the following as a style sheet depending on the language version you wish to use:
     • Suomenkielinen.xslt
     • English.xslt

     The first style sheet option is Web_browser.xslt and is used for opening an XML file in an Internet browser when no other application is associated with the XML file extension.

Note

• The energy report is updated when you update or redefine a zone.
