2D Automatic Constraints
When you are adding a line, some geometric constraints are
automatically created, when the Settings > 2D Automatic
Constraints is enabled. Following constraints are automatically
generated:
- If you add a line parallel to another line by using the E key,
a parallel constraint is automatically created.
- If you add a line perpendicular to another line by using the T
key, a perpendicular constraint is automatically created.
- If you add a line with the tangential ruler using the point-arc
or arc-arc setting, a tangential constraint will be created.
- If you use the the parallel ruler, a parallel constraint is
created.
If necessary, you can disable the 2D Automatic Constraints when
the drawing window is active. In this case, no constraints are
automatically added when the line drawing functions are used.
You can disable and enable the 2D Automatic
Constraints by selecting Settings > 2D Automatic
Constraints from the menu bar. When the function is checked,
the 2D Automatic Constraints is active. The setting remains even
after the program is restarted.
Note
- The setting is available, when Settings > 2D Constraint
Manager is enabled.
- The setting does not affect the geometric constraints that are
used to bind the building components of a parametric building model
to each other (walls, windows, doors, roofs, etc.).
- Drawing elements containing constraints retain their
constraints if the 2D automatic constraints are disabled during
design work. Instead, geometric constraints will not be added to
new elements added afterwards.
- You can delete a constraint automatically added to a line by
selecting the line and then selecting the context-sensitive
function Properties.
