Export a Model with Drawings
You can compress an archived model, part or an assembly modeled
with the modeler, and its drawings, into one VXZ transfer file
This is the only correct method of copying models together with
their drawings between different Vertex systems.
Following data is compressed into a file:
- Archive and revision data of models and drawings. Model or
drawing files in accordance with a revision are not saved.
- Model files and drawing files.
- A local part of an assembly and a library component.
- Users own library components that has been added to an assembly
from library folder Shared/components. This applies to library
components added as links (the component has the .L appendix).
- If the Flow link is in use, Flow documents are also compressed
into the transfer file.
Export a model with drawings as follows:
- Do either of the following:
- Model in the working window - Open the File menu and
select Export/Import > Export Model with Drawings.
- Feature tree of a part / the assembly tree -Move the cursor
over the symbol of the part, assembly or subassembly, and select
the Other Functions > Export Model With Drawings
function.
- One level or the entire structure can be compressed from an
assembly. Define the transfer of an assembly model by using one of
the following options:
- Move This compresses the selected part and its
drawings.
- Move First Level compresses the main level of an
assembly and its drawings.
- Move Whole Assembly compresses the assembly and its
substructures.
- Select the folder in which you wish to save the transfer
file.
- Name the file. The default file type is Vertex Transfer file
VXZ.
Naming a File
- Click the Save button. The program compresses the VXZ
file. The program notifies you when the transfer file is
finished.
Note
- You can import models with drawings compressed using this
function into a Vertex system by selecting File >
Export/Import > Import Model with Drawings.
