Saving as a New Document in the Archive
You can save a part model, assembly model or a model drawing as
a new document in the archive as follows.
- Save an archived document as a new document.
- Save an unarchived file as a new document.
Saving an Archived Document as a New Document
This function will save the archived document in the active
working window into the archive, as a new document. Use the
functions in the dialog box to define the name and saving
location.
When you are saving a model as a new document, close model drawings
before saving.
- Select the File > Save as New Document function.
- Define the data of the new document in the dialog box.

Saving an Unarchived File as a New Document
You can save an unarchived file under the same name as the
original file, or you can rename the file.
- Open an unarchived file in the working window.
- Select the File > Save as New Document function.
The application will suggest the original file name as the
document name in the Label field.
- Do either of the following:
- Keep the original file name in the Label field.
- Rename the document.
- Do either of the following:
- If you save the document in the document archives, clear the
To project selection, if necessary.
- If you save the document in the project archives, select
To project and select a project by clicking the
Select button.
- Confirm the data.
