Creating Piggyback Trusses

You can use this function to cut a truss exceeding a certain limit height into two sections. When you create the truss drawings, both sections get a label and a truss drawing of their own.

  1. Select Trusses > Advanced > Add Piggyback Trusses.
  2. Type the height limit in a dialog box. If necessary, you can open the dialog box with the function Cutting Parameters on the contextual toolbar. The program marks the trusses exceeding the height limit in the layout drawing and in the model. The annotation in the drawing tells the difference between the height of the truss and the height limit.

  3. If you cut the trusses in the model, select either of the following functions on the contextual toolbar:

If you use the function in the layout drawing, the cutting height is always selected in the envelope drawing.

  4. Select the trusses to be cut. You can select all the marked trusses by pressing Ctrl+A.
  5. Select Confirm.
  6. Do either of the following: The program cuts all the selected trusses at the defined cutting height.
