Changing a Structural Layer of a Wall with a Component Change
Rule
You can change, delete or add a structural layer be defining a
component change rule.
- Select General Object Functions >
Set Up Component Change. The Component Change
dialog box opens.
- Define a new Change Operation or edit an existing
one.
- Define which component is to be changed. Select Wall
Layer from the Object Type list.

If you wish to target the change operation to
the structural layers of only certain walls, define Search
Criteria or Classification Search Criteria which will be
used to find the walls.
- Click the Parameters to Change button. The Change Layers
dialog box opens.
- Select one of the following:
- Change layer - Define the data of the structural layer
to be changed or edited, and the new structural layer.
- Delete layer - Define the data of the structural layer
to be deleted.
- Add new layer - Define the data of the reference layer
and the new structural layer. The reference layer is the structural
layer next to which the new layer will be added.

- Confirm by clicking OK.

- Handling the wall by layer requires that you are using a visual
wall library.
