Description of an Element

This function can be used to open the data associated with the selected element in a dialog box.

1. Select General Object Functions > Describe Entity.
2. Select a component.
3. View the element's data in a dialog box.

Element

The type and name of the selected element are displayed in this field, for example

3D Volume
Wall "EXT ..."

Parts

When you double-click the name of an element in the Element field, the subparts of the selected element are shown in the Parts field. For example, when you double-click the abovementioned element Wall "EXT ...", the following things will be listed in the field:

• Parts comprising the wall model

• 2D geometry group of the wall

• Wall macros such as windows and doors.

Connections

When you double-click the name of an element in the Element field, the selected element's connections to other elements are shown in the Connections field. For example, when you double-click the abovementioned element Wall "EXT ...", the corner and T intersection connections between the wall and another wall are listed in the field.

If the element geometry is reflected in a different drawing-model pair, information about the reflected geometry is displayed in the Connections field.
