Eave Moving

Select the tile roof parameters and calculate the new slope length in the dialog box.

Dialog Box Options

Select gables (1) and (2)

Click the button and then click the gable eaves to be moved in the drawing window.

When selecting the eaves, take into consideration that you can apply the change of the slope length required by the tile spacing in two different ways:

Shorter dist. (3), Longer dist. (4)

If either of the gable eaves is slanting, the distances of the shorter and longer sides from the other gable eave are refreshed in the text fields. Select the dimension to be used to determine the tile spacing by clicking the Select button next to the dimension.

If the eave is straight, the dimensions area equal and the content of the field (Slope length used in calculations) is refreshed automatically.

Tolerance of gable 1 (A), Tolerance of gable 2 (B)

Type the values of the parameters affecting the slope length in the text fields. In the figure below, the tolerance of gable 2 (B) is 0. Dimension L is the slope length to be calculated, and d is tile spacing.

Pay attention to the gable eave tolerance in a situation presented in the below figure, where the marked eaves are selected as gables 1 and 2.

In this case, the tolerance of gable 2 is negative, for example B = -32. Dimension L is the slope length to be calculated.

The default values of the parameters have been defined in the system settings with the keywords gable_tol_1 and gable_tol_2.

Tile spacing

Type the tile spacing depending on the tile in the text field. After this, calculate the number of tiles by clicking the Calculate button below the Number of tiles field.

Number of tiles

Calculate the number of tiles by clicking the Calculate button below the text field.

Gable tolerance

The program calculates the value in the field using the parameters Tolerance of gable 1 (A) and Tolerance of gable 2 (B).

Gable tolerance = A + B

New slope length

Calculate the new slope length by clicking the Calculate button below the field. The change in the slope dimension is refreshed in the Displacement field.

Displacement

Change of slope dimension compared to the old one.

Split

As a default, the gable eave (2) is moved. If you want to move both gable eaves click the Split button. The program divides the displacement equally on both eaves.

Move

If you want to move another eave of the same slope, accept the displacement you have calculated for the first eave by clicking the Move button. The program moves the eave according to the calculated displacement. Proceed by clicking another eave to be moved. Finally, close the dialog box window by clicking OK.

OK

Accept the last calculated displacement of slope dimension and close the dialog box by clicking OK. The program moves the eave according to the calculated displacement.
