Direction of Sunlight in a View with Shadows
When you select shadows for an elevation view, the Sun shines
from above and to the right as a default. When using Wireframe
drawing method, you can change the direction of the sunlight by
editing the shadow_gamma and shadow_beta keywords in the BDSXX
keyword group:
- shadow_gamma - this keyword defines the rotation around the
global Z axis in relation to the view's direction of view. A
positive value rotates counter-clockwise. The allowed values are
-90 ... 90. The default value is shadow_gamma= 45.
- shadow_beta - this keyword defines the angle from the
horizontal. The allowed values are 0 ... 90. The default value is
shadow_beta= 30.
Note
- For large and complex buildings, turning on shadows slows down
the generation of the views.
