Save a Drawing as a Detail

This function can be used to create a detail based on the drawing in the active drawing window. The origin of the drawing will be set as the reference point of the detail.

1. Activate the drawing of which you wish to create the detail.
2. Select Details > Save Drawing to Detail.
3. Type the detail data.

4. Select the save location of the detail. New details are normally saved in the detail archive located in the custom directory. If the drawing of which the detail is created belongs to a project, you can choose to save the detail and the detail archive in the project folder. Details drawn in a separate drawing window will always be saved in the detail archive in the custom folder.

• After creating the detail, you can add it to the project's 2D drawing using the Add a Detail function.

• This function can also be used to create a symbol of the active drawing by selecting Symbols as the detail archive when entering the detail data.
