Dimension Associated to a Line, Hatch or Macro

Associativity affects the dimension as follows:

• When a dimension is associated with an element, the deletion of the element also deletes the associated dimension.
• If you move the associated element, the dimension will not follow the change.

Note

• The dimension will be updated according to moving the element when the dimension is associated to the dimension point. See Adding an Associative Dimension Attached to a Dimension Point.

Adding Associativity

1. Select a dimension.
2. Select the function from the contextual toolbar.
3. Select one of the following as the associated element:
   • Line
   • Hatch
   • Macro.

Changing or Deleting Associativity

1. Select a dimension.

   If a text has associativity, the function is selected.

2. Select the function.
3. Do either of the following:
   • If you wish to change the associated element, select the new element from the drawing.
   • Delete the associativity by clicking an empty spot in the drawing.

Note

• When the software is in basic mode and you select a dimension from the drawing, you can see with which element the selected dimension is associated. The associative element is highlighted in color, if marking is enabled.
