Scaling a Reference Drawing with a Measure

You can define the scale of a reference drawing by measuring it in the drawing.

Scaling with a measure is available when adding or moving a reference drawing.

Scaling when adding a reference drawing

Make an approximate scaling when adding the reference drawing.

  1. Select Reference Drawings> Load reference drawing.
  2. Select the reference drawing to be added.
  3. Select the Scale with Measure auxiliary function.
  4. Click two points in the drawing, for which you already know the intervening distance.
  5. Confirm the distance value in the dialog box or enter a new value.
  6. Select a location for the reference drawing.
  7. If necessary, make the scaling more precise with the Reference Drawings> Move function.

Scaling when moving a reference drawing

Refine the scaling when moving the reference drawing.

  1. Select Reference Drawings> Move.
  2. Select the reference drawing to be moved.
  3. Select a reference point.
  4. Select the Scale with Measure auxiliary function.
  5. Click two points in the drawing, for which you already know the intervening distance.
  6. Enter the actual distance between the two clicked boints as a numerical value.
  7. Select a location for the reference drawing.
