Cutting the Link of a Reference Drawing

You can cut the link of the reference drawing to the original drawing. Drawing is a copy. It is no longer a reference to the original drawing. After cutting the link, you can edit the geometry of the reference drawing.

1. Do either of the following:
   • Drawing - Select reference drawing and select the context-sensitive function Cut Connection.

     

   • Select Reference Drawings> Cut Connection. Select the reference drawing you wish to cut. If you select Confirm, all links of the reference drawings will be cut.

Note

• Vertex G4: You can undo cutting of links by pressing Ctrl+Z after you have stopped using the Cut Connection function.
• Vertex BD: If the reference drawing itself has a reference drawing, you can cut both their links by selecting the function Cut all connections in chain from the contextual toolbar. When you click the first level reference drawing, the link of the second level reference drawing is also cut, and both reference drawings become visible.

  When the function is not selected, only the link of the first level reference drawing is cut. The second level reference drawing becomes visible, but its link is not cut.

  By pressing the V key you can cut the links of all reference drawings at once - both the individual reference drawings and the reference drawings linked to another reference drawing.

• Vertex BD: You cannot undo cutting the links.
