Line Properties Dialog Box

Select the properties of a line in the dialog box, when you are adding a line to a drawing or you have selected the line for editing.

Dialog Box Options

Line Properties

Select the line properties in the fields of the dialog box.

The properties that can be edited depend on the elements you selected. If the selected elements have different properties, the field will be empty. If you leave the field empty, the elements will keep their different properties. If you select a new property in the field, it will affect all selected elements.

Element Properties

Copy

Click the button to click a line in the drawing and have its properties copied to the selected line for editing.

Bending line

Vertex G4: Defines a line as a bend line. Define its properties by clicking the Change Values button.

Fixed

Defines line fixing in the drawing for the position it is in when the line properties are selected for editing. The fixed line retains its position, when geometric constraints are solved.

You can release a fixed line by leaving this check box empty. If you select the Fixed checkbox, the Direction fixed checkbox is also selected.

Line fixing affects only when solving geometric constraints. The line will remain at its original location. However, you can edit the geometry of a line, stretch the line from its handles or trim, for example.

Direction fixed

Defines the line fixed so that the direction of the line retain, when geometric constraints are solved, but the position of the line can change.

Constraints

The geometric constraints defined in a drawing are displayed as a list. Unsolved constraints are highlighted in red.

If you select a constraint in the list, the elements connected to the constraint will be highlighted in the drawing.

Edit a dimension constraint's value by first selecting the constraint from the list. Then enter a new value in the Value field. You can also define a formula for a dimension constraint in the Value field. When you click the Apply button, the change is updated in the drawing and the geometric constraints are solved.

Click the Change Chirality button to change the chirality of a Distance, Angle or Tangential constraint.

Click the Delete button to delete the selected constraint.

You can stretch or maximize the dialog box in the vertical direction so that selecting constraints from the list would be easier. You can stretch the top or bottom of the dialog box. You can maximize the dialog box to fill the screen from top to bottom with the Maximize button .

Apply

Click the button to refresh the changes to the drawing. Geometric constraints of the assembly are solved.
