Setting a Use Code
The use code of an element can be used for several purposes:
- Elements which have the same material code may have a different
use code. The use code data is saved into the element. The use code
is also collected to the material report. The use of this function
requires customization.
- You can search for a component to be changed on the grounds of
the use code. When you are defining the component change rule, use
the parameter COMP_USE in the search criteria.
Set the use code of an element as follows:
- Select one or more elements.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Advanced > Set Use Code. The Use of Component
dialog box opens.
- Do either of the following:

selected elements, and continue as follows:

etc.

and continue as follows:
- Select a use code by clicking the Select button. Select
Use of Component database view opens. Move the cursor on the
desired row and click the OK button.
